21st Century Pattern Blocks - Math For Love

I've always been a fan of Pattern Blocks and have used in my teaching of primary children of all ages. These 21st Century Pattern Blocks promote creativity and deepening understanding. I used them at my recent maths leaders' training and posted the pics on X/Twitter @PMMMaths

I bought these in spec as my boys are 9 & 12, thinking they might have fun with a few different shapes. To my surprise, both really enjoyed manipulating them and making pictures and tessellating designs. It turned out that neither had used pattern blocks through their school career though I had expected they were ubiquitous in early years classrooms. We had lots of unexpected fun!
